What you carry can hurt you!

We become what we carry/

What we hold onto/

No matter if it cuts our hands or burns us, or it soothes.

Notes:

If it isn’t obvious, this drawing and this short, short poem are inspired by a Buddhist idea about carrying an ember:

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”

It’s a quote that is often attributed to the Buddha but apparently, it’s a paraphrased quote of something said by Buddhaghosa. I got this information from fakebuddhaquotes.com.

I write and stuff. I published some fiction on Kindle over the last few years and I make a little money off of that. It was a pen name and NO you can’t read it.
